Missed Lesson Policy
Your lesson time is reserved. Tuition is due in full if the student is unable to attend the lesson regardless of advance notice. We do not reschedule missed lessons because we do not ask our instructors to reserve twice the time for the same compensation. This enables us to keep our faculty intact and attract the best instructors in the country. Previously the best instructors would leave our staff because they were not paid every time a student missed a lesson.
However, the school does give you
four to five free lessons each year!
(4-5 times each year there are 5 weeks in a month but your tuition does not change).
Plus you can also use missed lesson time by attending special events during the semester including Student Workshops, Rhythm Night rehearsals and performance and Drum Camps.
Missed Lesson Procedure
1- Please call 516-777-3786 or Email NDADrum@aol.com in advance if you will be unable to keep the lesson appointment (We do not confirm phone messages).
2.- The missed lesson date will be listed in the Missed Lessons Report section on your monthly tuition invoice. We keep track of your missed lesson dates and will let you know when the special events take place. If you are unable to use the missed lesson time before the end of the semester, the dates are rolled over to the next semester you are enrolled. Missed lessons may not be used by any other person.
School Closings
The school is closed and tuition is not charged for lessons that fall on: Christmas Eve & Day, New Year's Eve & Day, Easter, Mother's Day, Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day and Thanksgiving. If your lesson falls on a religious holiday (limit 1 per holiday season), inform the school and you will not be charged.
Bad Weather Days
Lessons at our school or in the home will not take place if public schools are let out early or cancelled and/or there are 4+ inches of snow on the ground with unplowed roads.
Discontinuation of Lessons
Students must inform the school (not the instructor) at least 72 hours before their next scheduled lesson when discontinuing their instruction. Failure to do so results in tuition continuing to be charged.
Tuition Payment
Tuition is payable monthly by mail only in Check or Money Order (payable to NDA).
Cash or payment in person is not accepted.
Our affordable rates are based on a monthly average. In a 5 week month (occurs 5 times a year) the fifth week is FREE.
Professional or Hobbyist Lessons at our school are $95 monthly ($21.92 per half hour private or hour in groups of 2 or more).
Hobbyist Lessons In Your Home are $135 monthly (+$20 for remote locations) ($31.15 per half hour private or hour in groups of 2 or more).
