STUDENT WORKSHOPS
Students sit in and play with a different bands.
A great opportunity to participate in a valuable musical experience while using past or future missed lesson time.
Pre registration not necessary.
Parents, siblings and friends are invited.
We will cover rock, hip hop, jazz/swing, dance, latin and afro-cuban
in slow, medium and fast tempos
RUDIMENTS & SCALES WORKSHOP
Drum & Percussion Students will be asked to demonstrate the 26 Standard and/or 29 Compound Drum Rudiments by memory or reading in front of a judge.
Piano Students will be asked to demonstrate the Major Scales (sharps and/or flats) by memory or reading in front of a judge.
Awards:
Large Trophy - Play all 26 standard rudiments and 29 compound rudiments from memory;
medium to fast tempo; correct alternation, pauses and foot placement
Small Trophy - Play all 26 standard rudiments from memory; slow to medium tempo; correct alternation,
pauses and foot placement
Medal - Read all 26 standard rudiments; slow to medium tempo; correct alternaion, pauses and foot placement
Certificate - a 1-25 read; slow to medium tempo; correct alternation, pauses and foot placement
Each workshop coounts for one hour of missed lesson time.
